MSN,
I think Boeing will likely be happy. After all Boeing threw a fit when IB went with Airbus...

But 2003 will likely not be a great year for aviation sales. As a result AC could get good prices.. But again AC has huge debts to pay.... Can they afford to?

Oh, I would like to be running that corner of Air Canada right now. While I would prefer to take 777's, commonality and all that jazz means that Airbus is in the zone - by being a real hard head on some of the "non compete" routes, the 340's or 777's would be money spinners. In fact, absent the latest touches at Airbus, I think I would go with 777's and lock in Boeing on a swap-out to be the launch customer for the 7E7.
