Though I personally want to see EWR-SFO numbers from now to end of year (to see how much VX hurt them with those $199 fares).
Those cheap 199 fares aren't a cost; they're an investment for UA. They want to crush VX like a bug on this route...or, even better, entirely: we might bleed but they'll bleed more and the financial vultures are already circling them. Then they can cut the capacity and triple the fares.
