Morning flight departure (SQ 308, 9am departure) is great coz you arrive in the afternoon and can even still connect to W European cities in time for dinner with friends, which I did last month. That is why I like that flight timing. You get into London or W Europe, are able to check in immediately and have dinner, and shortly after you can tuck yourself in for some good rest.

The late night departure from Singapore to London (or other points in Europe, for that matter) always feel like a pain in the neck to me because of the early arrival into London/W Europe. I dread arriving early, having no hotel room ready and having to bide time until the room is ready, all the while in a hazy zombie-like state of mind. After such a long flight, all I want to do is to get my room straight away so I can get cleaned up, have a glass of wine, a snack and get some rest. Thank goodness for that morning flight then.

The morning flight does have the downside of not having caviar on the menu. I think this is ridiculous, btw. If not for breakfast, it should at least be served for the second main meal.
