I'm just looking for people's experiences with this. Here's my situation...
Last Friday when I picked up my Acadia (on an ICAR reservation, mind you), I told the Gold booth agent doing the checkout that I'd love it if they could pull that off again when I rent at the end of this month, since I'll be moving out for the summer. He said a lot of people rent cars then since it's the college summer exodus (basically), so availability becomes limited. I already have a 2-day ICAR reservation with Hertz, but after he told me that, I went ahead and booked an FCAR as well in case they were
really tight on cars. I understand it's not the nicest thing of me to do that, but I'm just trying to make sure I can move out without having to make a million trips.
If, when I show up, they aren't tight on cars, can I cancel one without being charged, even if it's slightly (a few minutes) after pick-up time? Or would it be better to make one for 8am and the other for 8:30am? If they are in fact tight on vehicles, would they only prepare one car for me (and if so, do you think they'd honor the ICAR or FCAR reservation)?
Thanks
-J.
