TRAVEL ADVISORY: Due to government budget cuts, the Federal Aviation Administration plans to begin furloughing air traffic controllers on Sunday, April 21, which the FAA says could cause extensive ground delays ranging from 50 minutes to two hours and a reduction in flight arrivals of 30 to 40 percent at certain airports.
While we have limited information about where these delays will occur, we estimate the largest impact for Alaska Airlines will be seen by customers traveling to, from or through San Diego (SAN), San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) airports.
Customers are encouraged to monitor their flight status before leaving for the airport.
