Yes, I have read that thread. I'm now living in the US. I fly about 4 domestic and one intl round trips per year, so most years I won't achieve status. It looks like redemptions on MP are a much better deal.
Are there any current credit card offers? It looks like the best option is the Chase Explorer card.
