Orange County eateries & watering holes (restaurants & drinking spots)

OC bar/restaurant recommendations:

Restaurants:
Javier's At Crystal Cove on a Friday/Saturday night - great for cougar watching
Scotts - I like this place, others might have different ideas
Crow Burger - Delicious Burgers in Newport
Mesa - Turns into an ok bar/club like vibe on weekend nights, food is good
Tenasian - Fusion restaurant with good food, club next door that seems to be constantly changing names. Popular with the Asian crowd and people that like to party
Cucina Alessa - Italian food in Newport Beach, right on PCH
The Beachcomber - Great view of the Pacific Ocean, right on the beach. Takes reservations and can get a long wait during the day.
Mastro's in Crystal Cove - Excellent steaks and seafood
Beachwood BBQ - Seal Beach
Gulfstream - Great seafood and steaks in CDM
Crow Bar - Gastropub with good drinks in CDM - great eatery AND watering hole
Wildfish in Newport
Thai Nakorn in Garden Grove (no bar)
Tabu in Laguna
Houston's in Irvine (same owner as to Gulfstream)
Bistango in Irvine
Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse in Trabuco Canyon (funky)
Bad to the Bone in San Juan (small BBQ joint)
In-N-Out

Bars (Most in the NB area - sorry, there's nowhere great to drink in Irvine unless you go to the club next to the fusion restaurant):
Mutt Lynch's - Great for watching a game of any sort
Goat Hill - Odd crowd, always tons of fun
The Alley - Drinks at this place are kerosene. Great place to end an already smashed night - take a cab, don't expect to drive
Blackies - I've never left this place sober
Rudy's - Fun crowd, always seem to make new friends there
Main Street in Huntington Beach - Tons of bars, just take your pick... some douchey people though... makes for great people watching
Downtown Fullerton - See above, same statements for "Main Street" apply here

Don't waste your time:
Sharkeez
