I agree. But US has gotten really good at doing things like this at the last minute.... like when they eliminated some of the Silver benefits in mid Dec for the next calendar year (after everyone had already done their flying). So frustrating, but I feel like I need to just start expecting them to screw their fliers over. Sighhh
