SkyMall NOT DM Shopping
In preparation for Daylight Savings Time and the subsequent task of changing smoke alarm batteries, I am getting ready to buy two 9v battery from SkyMall for 99 cents each + s/h. I only need 1, but I don't want to run the risk of getting 0 DM for a <$1 purchase.
As a reminder, you have to access SM from the US site. If I recall from last year, using coupons invalidates receiving DM, hence no hit.

SkyMall asks for your DM number at checkout. It's one of the final steps. And welcome to FT.

Just tried and ended up ordering without a chance to enter my DM number there was no place for specific DM or Frequent Flyer Miles...only a place for a coupon. I called them and they said it should have been placed under the coupon code....does anyone know if this is standard for all orders?

You have to use the US weblink, rather than clicking on a direct link (from FT or elsewhere) to an item. My bad.

"us 1234567". ( On the first attempt I tried adding the number in exactly that format and it wouldn't accept it). There was another box below this one asking for my DM number in order to receive 3 miles per dollar. So with my DM appearing several times on the order I finished it, feeling pretty sure I'll get the hit. Bottom line - don't submit the order without seeing your DM number somewhere on it.

Okay, I just went through it. Linked from the US Airways site but didn't log in initially, and had the "earn 3 DM miles/$1" banner.
Picked out 2 99c batteries from Improvements and went to check out. On the first checkout page, I did log in.
The "Checkout - Step 2" page is where you enter your DM number. There will be a box for it under the gift certificate/coupon box that says "US Airways Dividend Miles". Enter your DM number and click Apply. After I did that, over under the payment total it added a line reading "FlightFund earned: 6". Yes, someone hasn't updated their America West code.
So at this point I'm pretty confident of the hit. As noted above, the US Airways logo covers up all but the very top of the Submit button.

I don't have an "Improvements" option/category and, when I ran a search for "battery", the .99 cent 9V batteries did not come up.
Am I missing something or did they possibly sell out, due to the GS rush?

It's there. And as usual, post #1 in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/2011-...er-thread.html would have told you (and still does tell you) exactly how to find it. Perhaps it would be a good resource to consult in the future.
And thanks so much btw, for all your amazing work!

Jeez...that was not easy!
Thanks for the tip about the "submit" button being blocked by the US Air logo -- I couldn't figure out how to submit my order and was going crazy!
Ended up spending $10 ($18 with shipping + tax) for a wallet that straps to your arm. Was thinking I needed that exact product while out exercising the other day (shorts have no pockets; don't like to carry keys, money, etc.)
Couldn't find the batteries but there was a $3+ cleaner thing that blots out grease/oil stains. Was leaning that way until I saw the wallet-thing that I thought about the other day.

Post #1 in that thread no longer tells you exactly how/where to find it - it mentions the specific item (+ some others), but link has been removed because you have to go through US Air website.
I have no idea why a search for "battery" (or "9 volt") didn't bring it up - it brought up some C and D batteries, but not the 9 volt.
In any event, it doesn't matter, as I would rather pay $18 for something I want/need, as opposed to $9 for something I don't. So it's all good, and I have squeezed out another hit!
Again, thanks for the tips!
