I don't really like the Crystal Geyser, but considering the fuel costs of transporting bottled water to the US (or elsewhere) for the return trip, I think it is only reasonable that BA should get something available locally. Many people around me would think that I don't think nearly enough about the environment and I certainly don't sacrifice travelling for 'carbon' reasons because I believe in face to face interaction for work, but transporting water for the sake of having a specific brand on return trips would be beyond my own border of 'green consciousness' as well as within what I would personally consider the realm of reasonable cost-cutting measures on the airline's part.
