Agree with you. I have been gold for 3 years through credit card(I know not what posters like to hear) and stay 8-10 times a year and have gotten great treatment. Last two times got upgraded at Waldorf Astoria in NY and have great luck with exec floor upgrades. I think it is the best mid tier hotel program.

I def. agree. Staying at SPG as gold won't even get you recognized as a preferred Gold member much less anything upgrade or special treatment.
(like nada, none whatsoever).
