Even if thats true the rep would have to know that and Id say it can mess things up. A much better chance getting a replacement if when they look at the PNR they see the misconnect
The misconnects were just for the 787. They put me on other flights but the only reason I booked was to fly the new bird. And they did HEAVILY promote flying the new aircraft.
