I have always wondered this but never really asked: What happens to guests staying at casinos if a hurricane hits and the State shuts down causing casinos also to shut down? Case in point: Hurricane Sandy shutting down New Jersey which is also causing casinos to cease ops during the hurricane (Borgata notice here-

Of course no gaming ops but what happens if for example I have a reservation that states I was going to check out this Monday 10/30? Is the hotel obligated to extend the reservation? Are people staying at these casinos relegated to their rooms?
I could be wrong but a few years back I was in Atlantic City during a huge blizzard and the state did shut down but gaming ops weren't affected (as I recall).
