Waitlisting for award travel?
Me and the wife have seats in C booked for award travel about 11 months out on a very high-demand route. We're looking forward to the flight. We were able to book the seats we wanted on the flight we wanted, but not on our first choice of dates for the outbound - ideally, we would like to switch to the same flight a few days earlier. Of course, seats on that flight went immediately, so we couldn't grab them.
I've seen references here to people waitlisting for seats. I'm not familiar with the rules on that - can anyone point me to them? We have no status, but the flights we want to waitlist for are on UA metal, so there's that.
Do I have any options to waitlist for our preferred flight in the event that seats become available sometime in the next 11 months?
