Recent one night stay using Starpoints:

Upgraded to Marvelous suite on 20th floor: room clearly had been trashed/smoked in- it had a lingering odor, an intrusive amount of cover-up W scent sprayed, and the ozone machine left in the room. HVAC unit was incredibly noisy.

After an hour of back and forth was able to switch to the same room type on the 23rd floor: surprisingly the room was in much better shape, smell aside: furniture was much less worn (and better quality), fixtures/light switches and panels were in much better shape, and the housekeeper for this suite did a much better job.

I was astonished by how two suites in the same category could have been so starkly different- the first was clearly in much worse off shape. Had I actually paid for that room type and received it in that condition, I might have been upset.
