Honestly it has to. If not, then one could be following their guidelines and still finding themselves with a lapse in their gold status at (in that example) the end of 2014. People would be flipping out, calling and saying that they met the spend but didn't get status maintained, all because of hair-splitting on the T&C.
All these things aside, if I put on my lawyer hat...if one is required to complete 10k spend during their Account Year, it seems clear that that assessment would be complete and measured at the conclusion of the
Account Year, at which time the status would be granted through the f
ollowing calendar year, as they state.
