Yeah, the only thing I absolutely wouldn't do is call UA and ask "will you be honoring my ticket tomorrow?" No good will come from that. If you can't live with the uncertainty (which is obviously quite unfortunate) it would be better to just not go than call and see "what they'll do for you."
