Unless you'll be flying on LH enough to get status, LH is a terrible place to put miles; expiration, bad mileage chart loaded with lots of fuel surcharges and fees, lots of booking classes that get limited mileage.
The BD forum is discussing Avianca LifeMiles as a replacement for Diamond Club.

Their chart looks OK in some places (and they both sell miles and don't have fuel surcharges).
