Membership year starts counting from your card anniversary, so I guess it operates like Amex Plat Cred/Charge. *First year waiver*. If you sign up within two months of your next card anniversary (e.g. mine - Aug 12), your first year waiver is extended to next card anniversary (i.e. Aug 13 for me). This fee can be waived for having spent $36K (in all categories, not just agency/overseas) in the year prior to renewal.
