Mrs Roger and I cancelled our cards last week and feel cleaner.
Simple-ish process. The FAQ's say to call to cancel. We did and all seemed OK. There's a curiosity, though.
Snailmail letters turned up informing us thet they had 'stopped' our cards and that the cards would be 'closed' when we've 'completed ALL of the following:
- Our Customer Services department has received written confirmation of the closure.
- You've paid all your balance in full.'
OK about paying off the balance. Strange that they now require written confirmation after we followed the advice in the FAQs to call.
So just a heads up: it appears that the account remains open unless you do the final bit. If you don't, I guess this could potentially affect credit standing in due course.
