Question: is there a trick to booking this hotel? It is showing sold out for months at a time on the website. (I tried about 10 random one-night stays from September to the end of the year. Also tried 3-4 night stays to see if it was a minimum-stay issue.) I'm trying to book for this October.

I'm currently holding a reservation for my nights at the nearby Marriott: it's available all dates at what appear to be "normal" rates, regular awards available too, so I don't think I'm hitting Petra on some sort of max-peak date. (Otherwise, wouldn't Marriott be hitting me for rack rate or also be sold out?) My rental car and other hotel rates in Jordan are all reasonable as well.

I finally find a room available on a random night in January. Therefore, I don't believe it's either a website problem or a case of the hotel leaving the PC system.

Any ideas? I know this hotel has a slightly better location than the Marriott but would that cause it to sell out solid so far in advance?
