Thanks to you all for the input!
As suggested by airoli we decided to go with option 1), therefore to rent an RV from and to Montreal (after 1-3 days in Montreal) and get around up north.
"RV" specific inputs (we are not used to RVs
) or hints in general are always welcome ^
