I'm trying to redeem an award ticket for myself originating from MNL to BKK via HKG. I just realised that the CX booking engine does not do multi stop and basically tries to connect me through to final destination even though I do want to stop over for a week in HKG. I guess I will book online as a through ticket with an overnight in HKG and then change it when I get there?

The other thing is the Phillipines Travel Tax - which CX seems to add to the taxes of the award ticket. On PR, the tax is not calculated and passengers have to pay for it at the airport. CX adds this in. What should I do? Pay for it and then get a refund?

I am a tourist and not a resident.

Or should I bear and grin it and call MPC and wait .. so as to ask them to issue a ticket without the tax on it?

Thank you !
Tickets bought online does not include Philippine Travel Tax, so for Philippine Passport holders like myself I need to line up at the Travel Tax counter before I check in.

However, with the new changes in the booking system I was asked by the Manila Reservations Hotline to pay for my Travel Tax through phone because they need to reissue the ticket.
