For CX, you pretty much have to earn it cent by cent. And there is no way you can be sure that you have enough for award before it has expired.

At least your upgrade is your entitlement (if available). For CX, it is a gift.

I am simply trying to say each program has its own pros and cons, although it seems CX is a little bit better...
