Any idea what this could be about? Am I safer doing SDC to flight departing 4:56p? Would really prefer to keep the prime seat I have on the current flight, but concerned that this could be a bigger issue that ultimately results in a cancellation with a middle seat on an undetermined later flight.
Or you are on the later flight and that is cancelled/delayed for some other reason. Without a crystal ball, predicting these things is impossible and not worth torturing yourself over.
