Hello. Coming in intl to EWR at 5:15 PM. Right now I overnight and go out next morning. I may change to a connection which departs EWR at 6:30 PM. May have to collect and recheck a bag. Are you arriving from a pre-clearance station? If so, you are functionally making a domestic connection because you will have pre-cleared. If not, this is too tight even wuthout luggage. With luggage, it's likely you will miss the bag check cutoff even if you can physically make it to the gate.
Problem is these days that with capacity cuts, it's more than possible that the flight the next AM will be sold out. So no guarantee that if you miss your connection, you will be back on the originally-booked flight.
