I've also had mixed results. Sometimes its works fine work e-mails and web surfing. (I do not watch videos online.) However, last week it was so unusable on an LAX-JFK flight that I wasn't even able to connect to web chat to complain about the problem.
Filled out the post-flight survey, but heard absolutely nothing back. Not sure they read those.
