I make a point of visiting the supermarket wherever possible. Work tends to send me to first world destinations, and I like seeing the localities little quirks reflected in the way *normal* people shop.
I'll do the odd touristy thing, but only if it's an attraction I'd be likely to visit the equivalent of at home. that works out about 1 in 5 destinations.
