Not being able to have a pet is indeed a drawback to this lifestyle. I'd love to have a dog. Right now, I'd get the ASPCA called if I tried to buy a Chia pet.
Several of the Kimpton Hotels will bring a goldfish to your room for the duration of your stay. It won't fetch, but it's better than nothing
