Since flying is all about getting to the destination I imagine you always fly Y and can't understand why anyone would want to sit anywhere else?
Personally I like good wine, if I'm sitting on a plane for 11 hrs then some glasses of wine are nice. In which case I'd rather it was good than bad. The principle applies equally to the food and seat.
