Routing through JOG you are missing the very nice drive from SOC (Solo City) to Amanijwo. There are two routes, one over the mountains (spectacular volcanoes) and another via a fantastic Khmer style temple.

Also flying through SIN with MI is a breeze and their Saturday flight is at a convenient time. The Tuesday and Thursday flights are a little bit early.
Actually, GA was fine for us. It wasn't a widebody BKK-CGK, but the 737-800 we got was pretty good for a narrowbody, with personal IFE and decent seat pitch (I guess 38" or more) in Executive. We had the same on CGK-JOG. The 737-800 we had on JOG-DPS wasn't as nice: no personal IFE and crappier old seats due for a refurb. We did GA the whole way to ensure a single-ticket same-airline connection in CGK. TG would have been better on-board (barring an a/c sub), but I didn't want to risk the connection. We're on TG's nonstop DPS-BKK for the return flight. MI wouldn't work for us because the departures from SIN to SOC force an overnight stay in SIN if you're starting from BKK (or other points in Asia) but the times do work well for connections from the Europe and US flights that arrive at SIN early in the morning.

How nice the drive from SOC to amanjiwo is is a matter of taste/preference. Having done it once (and found it pretty on the arrival, wearying on the departure), we didn't need to do it again. That said, YMMV.
