Yes, but they have cabin crew providing the service who have been doing the job significantly longer than the 16 month average that an Emirates G1 has been.
Emirates problem as they continue to grow is that the experience level of their cabin crew continues to be diluted. This is not to say that the crew are not talented or enthusiastic (many of them are indeed exceptional in these areas), but rather that the high rate of growth and turnover means that the average experience continues to go down rather than up. Which means that it becomes very difficult to make small changes since those executing them lack the contextual awareness.
Emirates realises this problem and the new meal services are designed with intent of being common sense and modular services. However, the tradeoff is that the end product will be consistent cookie cutter services rather than customised service for each passenger.
