I flew fairly recently on BKK-DXB (EK 375) the morning 09:55 departure. I was really exhausted (and having a cold) and fell asleep almost directly after takeoff. After about 3 or 4 hours, I woke up and was starving. I asked in the galley if they had any sandwiches or similar, and the crew offered to set up lunch for me with what they had left from the service. I got one tray with the starter and main courses together and desert which they offered later.

I'd never asked for this before, and not since, but I really appreciated the extra service I was given on that flight.
