I didn't know they treat Diamond member like this given the low occupancy rate. I would postpone my trip to Maldives.

Being a PH, I would expect them to be as accommodating as possible - instead of getting told "no upgrades for Diamonds, but maybe we can sell you more nights?"
I really want to check this new PH out, but if this will be the treatment they reserve to Diamonds - I'll be off to Six Senses.
I stayed in almost all big chain resorts in MLE - and ALL of them upgrade they top tier customers.
So I find the "no upgrade" approach by this particular hotel very cheap and unwelcoming. And also violating the group-wide Hyatt rules.
