I would like to change my award seat and was told only wait-list is available. I will be travelling economy deluxe. The BR agent has no idea how soon the wait-list will clear, but she said I might have a good chance.

I don not want a "good chance", what happens if it does not clear? Does anyone know usually how long does it take to know when the seat will be confirmed? Is there any trick to do so? Will calling customer service in Taipei has a better chance to know.
