Wow, I thought I was alone when I was disappionted in Iberia's high level of apathy. It took 6 months (only with the help of American Express card service and the AA Platinum Service Help Desk) to get a simple $126 refund for expenses for delayed luggage which was lost three times. Only basic clothing, toilet articles and medication was bought.
Bags were lost:
- JFK-BCN and could not be forwarded to MAD because "BCN-MAD is shuttle service and baggage must be rechecked physically in BCN" so they went back to JFK where they were forwarded by AA on IB codeshare direct to MAD
- then MAD-BCN baggage never left MAD after check in but was promised on next flight
- 1 piece arrived on next flight and other piece went on to JFK
- in JFK, only piece I had checked in was sent back to MAD (follow up on claim of first luggage lost even though already sent to MAD before by AA)
- AA Eagle was very light with 2 bags less back to DCA.

Two weeks later, receive a call from AA about when I am I going to pick up my baggage, as it has been there for 2 weeks.
My father mailed me the other piece of luggage which came back to MAD. (additional expense not calculated in prior claims)

This was the glory days of Iberia in OneWorld when they gave a generous 100%. If only my baggage could have earned miles for me! Let's start a denyiberiathefreddie.com website or are they even allowed to participate??!?
