At this point in time, it's still about $2.2k on Jumeirah's website, but if you purchase through
Visa Signature's Luxury Hotels service (Chase BA Visa is a Visa Sig, for instance), it's as low as $1359/nt. Plus you get a free upgrade thrown in. Here's the complete list of Visa Sig bennies:
Guaranteed best available rate
Automatic room upgrade upon arrival, when available
Free in-room Internet or Valet parking
Complimentary continental breakfast
3PM check-out, when available
VIP Guest status
$25 food or beverage voucher
That $25 food/beverage voucher oughta buy you a Diet Coke if
you pay the tax.

The reason I found this thread was I was trying to find how many Jumeirah/Sirius points are required to book the Burj al Arab. Jumeirah/Sirius is an Amex USA MR transfer partner at 23:1. But I have no idea how many points a night at the Burj al Arab costs. I can't sign up for Jumeirah/Sirius right now because their signup servers are down. Anyone know how many points it takes?
Update: Finally
managed to find it: 7050 Jumeirah/Sirius points at minimum for a Burj al Arab stay. That comes to 162,150 Amex MR, which is $3243 at 2 cpm or $1621 at 1 cpm, a bloody bad value given Visa Sig's prices.
