If Qantas can interline between non partner airlines when it is all on the one ticket, why not go the extra step and interline baggage for a CIP?
If gaia holds true to his promise, the director of the board responsible for losing $60k plus over a, what, $20 bag handling charge? should be fired.
It just doesn't make sense.
The OP knows now that purchasing a through ticket is advantageous. But we don't know why the tickets were purchased separately, could have been that the MEL-SYD add-on was a later addition.
Anyways, I'm with the OP here. Qantas' PR department should be with the OP here.
One wonders what benefits P1 will offer if they can't use discretion in a case like this to interline bags for a clear CIP.
