Thanks for the advice. Booking on Virgin Trains website worked for only £5.50 more (I assume it was the same price bucket but plus some booking fee). The price I wanted had disappeared from the train I wanted by the time I figured this out, so I had to take a later train. Grrr...

Anyway, it's done. Many thanks for the advice and help.
