There is conflicting info whether this benefit has been discontinued or now is an "unpublished benefit", therefore this is just some info how it used to work:
If you qualify for Premier / Platinum status before September 15, you will be awarded status instantly. Status will be valid for the remainder of the membership year and the following membership year.
Unpublished or not, let me confirm that this benefit does exist. I just finished a vacation that included the Chateau Laurier and the Chateau Frontenac (gold floor-was very nice
), which pushed me over the required nights for Platinum status. My account has now been upgraded, presumably for the balance of this year and next. I did send an e-mail asking for some clarification on the rules, and they just upgraded me. ^
