It sounds like the Hotel Gellert would be perfect for you. The famous bath is free for hotel guests. They have an outdoor pool and sauna with a very large sunbathing deck.
The location is right on the Danube River, just a two-minute tram ride into the center of Pest for lots of dining options.
I just stayed there last week on a booking done back in the fall. Frankly, after reading the review on this thread, I was somewhat apprehensive about what I was walking into. Frankly, the hotel was old, but quite charming.....the beds were good, the breakfast was really above average, and the Gellert baths (saunas and pools) were a blast.
Glad to hear you had a better bed than did I. Although I'm surprised that you consider the breakfast "above average" as I'd consider it above U.S. average but below Europe and much below Asia averages. The hotel and the baths are indeed in very classic buildings, and the baths have quite lovely decorative tile and glass.
If the poster is considering staying at this hotel, I'd suggest paying extra for a river view.
