A favorite of mine was "Have you been in contact with your luggage?"

I wanted to reply with, "Well the BIG suitcase sent me e-mail last week, but the carry-on NEVER CALLS."

I hope that they will one day realize how inane those questions are. All of the ticket agents have had the fear of god put into them about the $5000 FAA fine if you don't ask. So now it seems that I get asked two and three times per flight.
