Then we agree. The area where the seat reclines is part of the person-in-front-of-you's personal space, not your personal space. After all, his seat is designed to go there, not your seat. I don't understand how you can even think you are entitled to his personal space.
Ahhh, it's not each individual's personal space, is it? It's the space you want right now in this situation with no regard to the other person's personal space.
Don't kid yourself. There is no way you can look at this as a civility of personal space issue without realizing you are only considering yourself, and not the other person, who is utilizing space he is entitled to use based on how the airline has placed and constructed the seats. The fact you don't like it is irrelevant, isn't it?
