If it is a simple OW or RT revenue ticket, you should be able to book directly on CX website. I just played with it and it seems to work.

If it is more complex, you can find the AA local agent info on the internet. It may pay to call them and discuss your options with them. They play things 10000% by the book so you don't have to worry.
