Air China, 21 hr layover in PEK. Collect bags? Skip second flight?
I have a two part question I hope someone can help me with.
I have a Star Alliance (AC) award flight flying Air China flight CA1472 from Guilin (KWL) to Beijing (PEK) arriving at 7:00 PM, with a 21 hr layover in Beijing.
Connecting to Asiana Airlines flight OZ336 to Seoul (ICN) at 4:00 PM the next day.
The first question I have is will there be any problem collecting my luggage in Beijing, NOT having it checked through ICN.
The second question is can I skip this second flight all together (not show up). It is the last flight on the itinerary so I don’t care if the cancel the rest of the ticket, but I am worried about any other problems that may arise, either with China wondering what happened to me, or with the airline.
I want to do this so I can stay in Beijing for a few days and then fly on a second Star Alliance (booked separately) award flight home from Beijing.
