Credited to AAdvantage they do.
I was around 3,200 miles short of AA EXP with no transatlantic trips before the end of the qualifying year on 31.12.10 so I looked for a 1 day BA itinerary that would get me the miles. I flew:
BA 2901 MAN-LGW 0640-0745
BA 2642 LGW-SKG 0845-1400
BA 2643 SKG-LGW 1455-1625
BA 2910 LGW-MAN 1740-1840
So BA accept that I got off BA 2642 in SKG at 1400 hrs and that I boarded BA 2910 in LGW on 1740 but NOT that I managed that by being on BA 2643 in between.
It's insane really.
