Well, my experience is different. I have very "mixed history" of flying in different classes including full fare business and sometimes first when it exists and is available. Nevertheless sometimes I get Optiontown upgrades and sometimes don't
Haven't collected any statistics though. Well, that's just kind of gambling
but why not? You don't loose anything beyond small transaction fee.
