I used to be phobic of needles. Then I got an illness where I had to have a lot of blood tests. Got over it pretty fast. Now I can watch and critique their technique on regular blood draws.

Donating, I still have to look away. That's one honking big needle.

Hopefully, I'll be able to donate again next Spring; I keep travelling to places where I get a 1 year deferral due to malaria risk.
