This is a horrifying story for both your wife and for the guests who were given the room. Given that the hotel charged you for the night, I am bemused as to why they would feel the need to check you out and give themselves the privilege of reselling the room. Hotel management seems to be taking it more lightly than I would like, had I been your wife.
