No, the wording is "If your friend already has The Green Card, The American Express Card or The Gold Card, you and your friend will not be eligible for the bonus Membership Rewards points as this offer is not valid for upgrading Cardmembers" - ie, any existing CHARGE card. The BA Amex is not a charge card and you are not 'upgrading' it. You would be upgrading from a Green card to a Gold card or a Plat card, hence the restriction. However, it IS likely that holders of the Amex Gold are blocked.
